Charles F. Haugh, DVM


Dr. Haugh graduated from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine and has been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years.  He has worked in many aspects of equine medicine, as well as doing extensive work over the past 20 years in the areas of  breeding, reproduction and the follow-up care of the mare/foal.  Throughout his career, Dr. Haugh has taken an interest in finding new and better ways to manage equine health.  In the past, he participated in hyaluronic acid studies with Dr. Tew which lead to the development of a product designed to treat joint problems which is currently on the market.  In 2003 and 2004, he worked with Dynsplint doing field trails to develop an equine splint which is now commercially marketed to correct contractures causing over at the knee, upright pasterns and deep digital flexural tendon contractures. 




Dr. Kimberly Hafner

Dr. Kim Hafner
Dr. Kimberly Hafner joined the practice of Equine Veterinary Associates LLC in October 2010.  Originally from Forest Hill, she is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park where she received a degree in animal science.  Dr. Hafner received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional college of Veterinary Medicine.  As an intern at Ferguson and Hammock Equine Hospital, Ocala, Fl, she worked with 10 other equine veterinarians in an equine-only primary and referral hospital.  Her responsibilities included the care of all hospitalized patients (both medical and surgical, running anesthesia, induction, and recovery of surgical cases as well as routine ambulatory work at large thoroughbred training centers, private stables, and backyard barns;  this work included general health care, diagnostics, treatments and after-hours emergencies.  She was also active in field reproductive work-including ultrasound evaluation and pregnancy checks, thoroughbred sales work-including digital radiography and endoscopy at Keeneland, Saratoga, Timonium, and Ocala.  Upon completion of her internship she became as associate of a mixed animal practice in Florida.  She is currently pursuing her certification in acupuncture.
